Overview
Germany owes its leading position to the unparalleled level of collaboration between science, research, industry and medicine. Many of their highly respected hospitals and doctors specialise in treating patients from abroad.

The healthy climate, unspoilt nature and wide range of shops and cultural attractions also play a part in ensuring that you and your families feel well looked after in Germany. It is a country with a terrain of vast forests, rivers and mountain ranges, and 2 millennia of history. Berlin, its capital, is home to thriving art and nightlife scenes, iconic Brandenburg Gate and many sites relating to WWII. Munich is known for its Oktoberfest and cavernous beer halls, including 16th-century HofbrÀuhaus.

Hospitals in Germany cover a broad spectrum ranging from reproductive medicine and oncology to the increasingly important field of cardiovascular disease. Although not the least expensive location, many German hospitals are among the best and most advanced specialist centres in the world in their particular field. They provide a consistently high level of care in all specialist areas from diagnosis and therapy to aftercare and rehabilitation. And patients often benefit from non-aggressive methods of treatment. Interventional procedures that do not involve surgery also minimise the risks for patients with diabetes, heart conditions or obesity.

Securing Your Money When You Travel
Carrying large amounts of cash is obviously unsafe in a foreign country. Also, be careful using your credit cards when you travel. Never give out your PIN, never let anyone else swipe your card and don't ever let anyone take your card out of your sight (example: at a restaurant). Make sure your cards are "Chip" enabled, require a PIN to use and carry in a wallet or case that shields the data from being scanned on the street.

Many clinics are no longer accepting personal checks, cash or travelers checks. Wire transfer and credit cards are your best bet however they can come with high bank fees per use internationally, variable exchange fees and lower daily spending limits when being used in a foreign country.

A Simple Solution to keep your money safe - Travani offers 3 secure travel products to carrying money for expenses and for paying your doctor. There are no credit checks, low fees, and you don't have to worry about having your money or identity stolen off of your card.
